I produce up really enjoying travel . My parents were both doctors and they would go to lot of aesculapian group discussion in all sort of cities . They brought me along and I retrieve really enjoying those trips . We went toHawaiionce , and I saw my first wholphin , which is the shaver of a hulk and a dolphin , and that really stick with me . I just remember being in our hotel elbow room that evening and being like , “ Hey , we were on that highway today . ” Not that I sympathize the implications of what was hap at that historic period , but now I ’m kind of like , whoa , that was weird .
As a kid , I had a very alien vision of travel , and as I ’ve get older and had to move around more for employment for comedy , I ’ve still retained some of that vacation brainpower where it ’s sometimes hard for me to remember , oh , you ’re still working when you ’re in a dissimilar city . You still have to answer emails .
My first slip toPariswas very exciting . It was just a very , very classic Paris experience of just walking around the streets . It was in August and I was locomote window shopping , and I just remember all these store induce notes in their doors that they were gone for August . “ Be back next calendar month . ” I was just like , oh my gosh , I ’ve been living my whole life untimely . My French admirer know how to experience : I ’m not working for a calendar month . plow with it .

I went toRomefor the first metre for a diminished cameo in a movie in April , and that finger very dreamlike . I scram to be there for a week , but I only had to exercise for two days . I fail tothe Colosseum , I went to the Vatican . It felt very touristy , but I was there for work , so I think that feel very fortuitous . I was checking into the hotel with one of the other actresses I was there with , and I think the concierge thought we were a couple . When they realized we were n’t , they kind of were nice to my friend , and then I mean because they were embarrassed that they had messed it up and they kind of tried to just get disembarrass of me as promptly as potential . I was like , okay , this is not what I would ’ve hoped for , but okay .

Window, middle, or aisle seat?
I ’ve historically been a windowpane seat person . I like being able to kind of nestle into the words and having that wall that you could nap against . I like being able to supervise the view for the sleep of the row . Now , because of aging and my weakening bladder , I reckon I have to maybe finally accept that I ’m going to have to be an gangway person because I just am too conflict - averse to have to keep asking someone to get up so I can go to the bathroom .
Pack light or overpack?
I amsomuch an overpacker . Even just going about my mean solar day , I ’m get things that just do not make sense . I retrieve if I had a “ go bag , ” it would be like a three - slice set of suitcases . I was just gone for two calendar week and I brought maybe seven or eight outfits , but I would say I probably fall apart four of them on rotation .
The matter about being an overpacker is when youdosuddenly need one of those random objects , like your old daybook , you ’re like , see , this is why I was smart and this is why I ask this in this moment .
Favorite way to pass time on a plane
I always hope that I can get some body of work done , and the few times I have , I am like , can I get some kind of recognition for this ? I palpate like I should earn miles for this or something . I used to be someone who could kip on flights , but I seem to not have that power as much these days , so I end up watching something or reading most of the sentence .
Biggest travel fear
Something go wrong with the planer and obviously ram is the end point of that fright , but then I think really bad Sturm und Drang almost feels bad to me . You do n’t know whether it means you ’re going to go down or it ’s just going to be scary for some unforeseeable amount of time . I did learn this floor once about this planer that , I do n’t make love , enter some form of unearthly air air pocket and it plummeted 60 base without anyone realizing , and then everyone hit the roof really severely , and I always think about that . I ’m sorry if I just insert that fear to a reader .
Favorite travel snack
Some sort of track mix where you ’re getting different bits in one bag where it ’s not all one thing , like a pretzel mix or some kind of mixed nut situation . I suppose I need that modest jolt of freshness .
Go-to drink order on a plane
Lately it ’s been sparkling water . I cogitate it ’s like I ’m trying to hydrate more , but at the same time I need excitement . And soda water feel like it possibly meets those needs in a very minimalistic way .
Must-have travel essentials
I ’m a big reader and I do n’t guess I ’ll ever get an e - reader or tablet . It would be way more efficient for traveling , but there ’s something about a paper - bound rule book I just ca n’t ablactate myself off of . I was just on a two - hebdomad stumble and I lend five books and then I somehow got another five while I was traveling . I ca n’t not buy Christian Bible . Two of them I bought in the Edmonton Airport , which makes no sense . The airport has a program where you’re able to return a book of account for credit and the madam was selling me on it and I was like , oh , sure , sure . I ’ll be shed by Edmonton again to give back these two Holy Writ .
I read this book calledLiarsby Sarah Manguso that ’s really quite bestial . It ’s a book about a marriage falling apart . It ’s an postmortem of a relationship in such close detail that you ’re just kind of clean knuckling through all of it .
I tend to pass moth-eaten , so I ’m always afraid I ’m go to short be freezing for a trajectory , so I always bring a flannel or a hoodie , something you may feel cosy in . I still feel like they have n’t figured out thein - flight of steps blankets . I do n’t know why the engineering has not improved , but they ’re still just fundamentally felt rectangles .
I have some flannels from Outerknown that are very cozy , but generally whatever . I wear out them around the house a lot , and when I journey I wish to discover way to remind myself of menage . I am a stay-at-home at heart .
I ’m essay to get better at drinking more water . Sometimes it feels like I just am merit betoken that I seem like I wassail a portion of water because I do n’t think I am actually drink more piddle . But it does feel like it ’s better to have more water uncommitted than to kind of be at the mercy of the drink cart coming around .
If you ’re having a cough fit on panel a planing machine , particularly post - pandemic . I just finger like everyone all of a sudden is like , “ Why are you on this flight ? We let you on here ? ” I get a lot of throat tickles now . I have some acidic reflux and water does n’t help oneself , so cough drops really are my last promise .

It always feels ostentatious to say , but I am really sensitive to racket and I feel like at airports and airplanes , there ’s just so much irregular stochasticity around you that sometimes I wo n’t even have anything play . I ’ll just put them on to create another stratum between me and the world . late I have been addicted to a British murder mystery audiobook , so I think something about a British narrator mouth about some variety of quaint death is somehow solace to me .
I used to have a pair of Bose headphones and then those were on their last legs . I buy a new brand go down one of those internet louse muddle where I was just bet for some more eco - friendly headphones and I ended up on some back back street website . The one I have now do n’t even have a logotype on them .
