Blueycenters around a mob of heel named the Heelers who live in Brisbane , Australia . The titular fibre , Bluey , lives with her sister Bingo , her mom Chili , and her daddy Bandit . While each episode may be unretentive , i does n’t take viewer long to get a genuine ( albeit cartoon ) sense of Queensland , the Australian land where Brisbane is located .

These animated stories are now create a somewhat unprecedented interest in family line travel to Queensland , according to Trish O’Callaghan , the CEO ofTourism and Events Queensland(TEQ ) .

But the monolithic recreation of Bluey ’s home is n’t the only emplacement that allowsBlueyfan traveler to have the totalBlueyexperience . Apart from the talking dogs , the show paints a pretty realistic picture of Brisbane and Queensland more broadly , which lend itself to reasonably easy itinerary - building . Even before TEQ ’s big push to appeal family unit with Bluey , the show was already a standoff for holidaymaker visiting Brisbane with their children . Nichola Gwon , who runs the blogMy Korean Husband , be in Korea with her married man and two nipper , ages two and five , but hails from Australia . On a recent trip to claver family , she pencil in a specialBluey - themed holiday for her children .

" I was taking both nipper on a stumble to Australia to see family and also to have Australia and it seemed like a great opportunity to ensure we do many things they had seen inBlueyepisodes , " Gwon says . " I checked through all theBlueyepisodes and made a tilt of things we could do , like the beach and depart to Bunnings . "

Because Gwon is from Australia , she had an insider ’s knowledge when her fry watched the show , and was able to well name certain democratic location in the show . " I knew beaches in coastal towns would be less crowded than city beaches , " she says . " I cognise Hammerbarn character the ironware store Bunnings in Australia ( it literally has a hammer on it ) . Getting from Korea to Australia takes between 10 and 12 hours — a prospicient journey for anyone , but peculiarly families with untried children . But with Bluey ’s World , TEQ is hop to make an even more ambitious journeying appealing to young families . The young attraction is part of a strategy to reap in a dramatic increase in tourism in the next yr from four primal international markets : New Zealand , Japan , Singapore , and the US . The emergence of the US market is peculiarly challenging .

“ We ’re front at an extra 1.3 million visitant by June , 2025 , ” Laura Jones , Director of Marketing Services at TEQ , explains . “ It ’s a substantial target . Bluey ’s World is one component of that . What it ’s really giving us the opportunities to do , is reach out the family traveler — we’ve never done that before . ”

There are former house of success for the programme . After just one calendar week into theBlueytourism safari from TEQ in June 2024 , O’Callaghan says that the office saw a massive spike in global pastime in visiting Queensland . When the Bluey ’s World touristry run was announced , more than 2,000 news stories around the globe were issue , and130,000 people visited the effort site .

Getting more American families to fly between 10 and 19 hours to the other side of the world is n’t going to be light . It ’s a long , pricey journey , and there are countlesstheme Park with spacious appealthat are much closer to home and do n’t require a passport to get to . A decade ago , such a movement direct youthful families in the US would have been unthinkable .

ButBlueyis changing things .

“ Australia , establish on aloofness and travel with little I , has seemed maybe not achievable . But , whatBlueyhas done is break that down a bit and give that additional push to travel , ” Jones explained .

For Gwon and her family , there are already design in situation to return to Australia for a Brisbane - centricBluey - inspired holiday . " In the future we plan to go to Brisbane and do an even better Bluey tripper , " Gwon says . " Our previous slip showed my kids many Australian cultural facet to my kids , in the futurity we will plan a trip to recognizable place in Brisbane . For other visitor wanting an Australian experience inspired byBluey , they do n’t have to only go to Brisbane , most Australian state are going to have experiences recognizable toBlueyfans . "

For those without local knowledge , there ’s even an Instagram account,@Bluey_Locations , which shares screenshots from the show and their real life emplacement ( or a well approximation ) .

Some of these locations shown on the show wo n’t be very exciting attractions , avowedly . Therandom highwaysandshopping mall escalatorsmight not be traditional stop on any family misstep . But anyone withBlueyfans in the star sign know the kind of fervent fandom the show creates — and that even a plenty of poop could be exciting to untested viewers .

household that make the trek to Brisbane will at least be rewarded with bit fromBlueyas soon as they land ; the airport is where Bluey ’s mom works , after all .
