Case Mountain Recreation AreaTulare CountyAccording to the Theodore Payne Foundation’sinvaluable godforsaken flower guide , this recreation area in the Southern Sierras may have some solid wild flower sighting opportunity . It ’s about a four - hour drive away from LA , in the foothill above Visalia and on roughly the same latitude as Sequoia National Park . There was more rainfall in the region last year , so hopefully that means more flowers — and a longer - lasting blossom — than we ’ll get around here .
The Flower Fields at Carlsbad RanchCarlsbadIf you ’re hunky-dory with flower that are a petty less fantastic , you ’ll retrieve a truly spectacular display down in Carlsbad . There is a monolithic 55 - Akko field of multicolored Tecolote Giant Ranunculus flowers , which are in the buttercup family .
