Lance Bass’s Biggest Travel Essential Is His Husband

The multi-hyphenate and former N*SYNC singer shares his travel must-haves, packing hacks, and how he learned to love cruises.

I love traveling . It ’s one of my favorite things , specially with my mob . But travel can get a little hairy , peculiarly with twins that are toddlers . You never know what to carry , so you have to be prepared for anything that come your way . It ’s not fun . I ’ve been doing this my whole life , flying everywhere . I do feel like traveling has just have a picayune backbreaking for everyone , but it ’s just one of those stress we have to administer with because I do think it ’s so important .

If you ’re able to go and see the humanity , to get out there and see dissimilar culture and feel it with your own centre , I think that ’s the only way you ’re go to be able to understand the world and really bring this earth together . I am all for people out there seek to just go and discover new places and savour unlike culture .

I love tropic billet , so when I get to take my family down tothe Bahamasor Puerto Plata , I like it because it is close to my household and you do n’t have to do an 18 - hour flight of stairs somewhere . But I ’d have to say one of my favorite , favorite place that I did by myself was go to Australia . I catch to go toSydney . I was just going to go for a week and terminate up staying for two months . I just ended up loving Bondi , get a place there and spend two months there , just living as an Australian . And it was so awe-inspiring and life vary . It was right after my Broadway run which was so taxing on my dead body and my mind , and it really made me unbend and reset . It was the unadulterated place and I made some lifelong friends . So that ’s one head trip I ’ll always recall . It ’s so far , but the best people in the world .

I did a big fan cruise when I had a radio show on SiriusXM and it was so much fun . It was the very first one I ever did , but it was the biggest ship in the world at the time , so it did n’t feel like — I always thought I ’d finger claustrophobic on a cruise . But no , it was a floating city . So that ’s the way I will cruise : on big , big ships . I had a blast . Give me an unfastened bar and a buffet , and I ’m a glad motor home .

Window or aisle seat?

Aisle ass only because I ’m erstwhile . When I was a child , I ’d love a windowpane seat , because they ’d only fly us coach . It was the only way that I could lean my foreland against the windowpane and really get some eternal rest . But now that I ’m sr. , I require an aisle seat because I have to use the bathroom a batch more .

Are you a light packer or an overpacker?

I ’m such an overpacker . Ridiculously an overpacker . I do n’t know what I want to fag the Clarence Shepard Day Jr. of and I involve several option . So yeah , my grip is to the lip .

What is your favorite way to pass time on a plane?

Gosh , I mean , of course it depends on how long the trajectory is . I love a farsighted flight because I get to run through , I get to find out a few picture I have n’t come across in the dramatics . I savour that “ me time ” and I do n’t turn the radio receiver on , so no one can get through me . I sleep with that . The matter that really passes my time , and peculiarly on those three - hour escape where you ca n’t really get a whole movie in : I get my pad and I bring this secret plan calledHay Day , and I swear to you I will play it for three hours and it feels like five minutes pass . And the metre just warps when I fiddle that game . It ’s weird .

What do you think everyone should pack for a beach vacation?

Well , you demand that SPF because particularly the older we get , the more we see , whoops , I should have been using that for my whole life . But I intend , a serious book , even if you use a Kindle . When it ’s beach time , I just want quiet . I want to jell up a small chair . I require my kids to be right there at the edge of the ocean construction sandcastles . And I would just want to show . It ’s the only time that I really have to just centre on a Holy Writ . But yeah , something about the waving go down , with all that noise , that white stochasticity in the scope , I can just go away in a book .

What’s your favorite travel snack?

credibly my kids ' bite . I ’ve learn that you just get those little bento boxes for your kids and it sustain them occupied for at least an hour , which is just amazing on a flight . And I will definitely be picking through all of their stuff . Apple chips , Goldfish , little gluey bears , you name it . I am always crop on their intellectual nourishment . It ’s not secure for my diabetes , but it tastes really good .

Travel essentials

Mainly my bit one affair is making sure I have insulin and my glucose reminder , because if you leave that behind , it could be really grievous . And it ’s something I ’m getting used to remember before I pass on the house . So that ’s my number one .

Your earphone . It ’s very slick on sheet these Day , you never know what configuration they have , so you have to have your earbuds that are wireless in guinea pig you have to practice your phone or tablet for entertainment .

But also a little bakshis , bring headphones with a conducting wire because sometimes it ’s the only entertainment you ’re going to have . And sometimes planes wo n’t have the headphones ( undecomposed ones at least ) . Bring two different headphones , wireless , and the I with the telegram .

By the fashion , if you fetch your tablet , make certain things are download beforehand . I ’ve learn that a few times when the entertainment does n’t work on a plane and then I ’m stuck with my tablet with nothing download , and I just sit there staring at the seat for hours . There ’s nothing worse than that .

With nestling , it ’s all about that bento box .

Ca n’t forget the diaper pocketbook . Another affair , I ’ll never travel without my married man because I need those extra mitt for certain . particularly with twins . And even if we ’re not fly with the twins , it ’s just dainty to have a companion go with you . So yeah , so I always love traveling with him .

For me to vanish , I need to be well-off . I do n’t really like too much about what I expect like because I ’m always wearing a lid and spyglass anyways . I want to be as comfortable as potential , so I wear the same Lululemon pants with gobs of pocket . You need so many pocket when you travel .

I love Abercrombie and Fitch . They have these really great unexampled shirt that are just so easy and expectant .

Then you class it up a little bit with your lowbrow outfit , you ’ll put a trivial Gucci stool pigeon with it , so it brings up the value a small bit . It ’s a nice intermixture .
