On Tuesday , November 15,Newark Liberty Airport ’s newest Terminal A , which has been in building since 2018 , was unveil through a ribbon - snub ceremonial occasion . The terminal officiallyopened to the publicon Thursday , January 12 .
The monumental , multi - billion project flaunts more than 1 million square substructure of blank . It will be home to 33 gate once construction is finalized , and upon opening , 21 of them will be available . Airport lounges will get their fair share of blank too , with 30,000 square feet of consecrate orbit , one of which will be a signature American Express Centurion Lounge sprawling across 18,000 square feet .
A retentive leaning of amenities will make the airport experience unseamed for travelers . Four - lane pickup and drop cloth - off curbs will make for easy airport access , and touchless technology implemented in both surety and boarding sphere will insure a smoother process . Ample service department space and automobile lease will also be available .
