A Great Day in the Stoke empowers Black surfers in Surf City, USA with a surf competition, free surf lessons, beach yoga, and more.

Surf culture has grant so much to the world — rad tunes , gnarly slang , Point Break — and the surf community is excellently creative and chill . But in many parts of the world , it ’s not always a welcoming , inclusive , or diverse group . That ’s whereA Great Day in the Stokecomes in . The largest assembly of Black surfers is return to Huntington Beach thisSaturday , September 16 ,   for the second straight class with a breaker contest , surf moral , yoga , and medicine to celebrate and authorise disastrous surfers and tyro alike .

The cardinal goal of the event is all about surfing , of form . Nathan Fluellen , the upshot ’s father , is a idiot box legion , manufacturer , enterpriser , and advocate for the contraband surfboarding community .
