The SoCal native and multi-hyphenate artist opens Andy’s, the laid-back bar, restaurant, and venue of his dreams this week in West Hollywood.
Anderson .Paak will commemorate this calendar month for the rest of his life . On September 7 , he premiered his directorial debut feature film , K - Pops!at the Toronto International Film Festival , on September 24 , he performed his GRAMMY - nominated albumMalibuwith a full orchestra at the Hollywood Bowl , and on September 25 , he opened his trade name raw eatery and music venue , Andy ’s .

LA is kind of a difficult city to find a good place where there ’s full food , honorable medicine , and a good atmosphere . come up in LA , I always desire to make a place like that because those were the places I go to get our music heard and to cling out with friends . ”
Mark and Jonnie Houston count themselves among .Paak ’s friends . They are the duo behindHouston Hospitality , which owns and operates legion voguish eatery and locus in LA like Harvard & Stone and Dirty Laundry , and now they ’ve partner up with .Paak for Andy ’s .

The Houstons met .Paak at On The Record , theirvenue at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas . Their friendship flourish , and .Paak even take a music video at the Houston Hospitality venueNo Vacancy . From there they realized they had interchangeable tastes in music , decor , food — all the elements of a multi - purpose restaurant and locale .
“ We create spaces where we create new friendships . Us construct this is going to go on that journey together , ” order Mark .
Mark and Jonnie have never worked like this with anyone else . They have collaborated with all variety of people on the details that bring locale to life , but .Paak is the first mortal with whom they partnered from ideation to slaying . Every item from the theater band to the name of the cocktails was decided between the three of them . For every other Houston Hospitality property , it was just Mark and Jonnie .

“ You hear about famous person opening ‘ this ’ or being a part of ‘ that , ’ and they ’re really not a part of it . They just hold their name on it . But with this [ .Paak ] surprised me . He ’s so knotty and he has good taste which is a addition .
