The Abbott Elementary star likes to spend his rare days off taking strolls and sipping an English Breakfast latte.
Actor Tyler James Williams has been gracing our television receiver screens since 2005 . You may remember him as the titular character inEverybody Hates Chris , a role that led to Williams becoming the youthful soul to win an NAACP Image Award at just 14 . He presently star as Gregory Eddie in the hit sitcomAbbott Elementary , a character that ’s won him a Golden Globe Award , a Screen Actors Guild Award and a nomination for a Primetime Emmy . The New York native walked us through a typical , easygoing stroll in LA , his current menage , where he recover inspiration in greenish space , fragrant wax light and a tea latte .
I ’m not a big breakfast person first thing in the forenoon . I ’m a tea guy , so I ’m going to get my Camellia sinensis fromThe Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf . I wish an English Breakfast caffe latte – two tea leaf bags to sound off the day off . Then I take a walk , take in the 24-hour interval , decompress . I care to try and let the walk take me where it wants to go , but sometimes I head down to check on the garden at Third Street Elementary . I was recently at Third Street to aid plant Compassion Flowers withMrs . Meyer’sas part of their Lots of Compassion initiative , which was created to turn vacant sight into residential area gardens . It was cute to see the youngster getting involve in the planting .
Unlike my character onAbbott , I do n’t have a green pollex , but I appreciate mass who do , and I bang encounter spots of beautiful greenery in the midst of urban environments . I love to be around them . Like I say , I ’m not with child at it , but I think that ’s why I apprise it so much .

I care that these cultivated space bring people together – especially in neighborhoods where masses are doing it themselves and not relying on the urban center for maintenance . There ’s something really unequaled about small community gardens[like Fountain Community Gardens andSeeds of Carver Community Garden]where you may feel the vigour of the neck of the woods .
I grow up in New York , and we envision a lot of empty spaces growing up – it was depressing . What ’s super special about these little pockets of beauty is that the great unwashed get to choose what their community want – what sort of plants , what sort of food . You get an idea of who the people are who live here by what ’s plant in the garden .
After my morning stroll , I ’m probably on my way toAroma Coffee & Teato get something to eat up . I ’m a pretty dewy-eyed guy ; I like the Crispy Chicken Wrap — that ’s my go - to – and I ca n’t say no to Curly Fries .

After that , I ’m doing some impulse candle purchasing . So any shop along the way where I see a cd , I ’ll stop over in . I have way too many candle than necessary at my firm , but it ’s my thing . I love anything thatBoy Smellshas done , but I ’ll break in at pretty much any little boutique that has an interesting looking cd . They ’re going to have all my money . I love to wander around front for gems because that ’s part of the experience – finding something that you did n’t require to buy .
Then I ’m going to the gym . go to the gym after you get off work is like the difficult affair in the world , so I prefer to go on a daytime off . That ’s a luxuriousness for me .
In the eve , I likeFireflyin Studio City . It ’s gravid because it ’s one of those few place that ’s undetermined really deep , but is still chill . It ’s not tops Hollywood . It ’s this squeamish short library bar where you could sit down and just have a conversation . And it ’s one of my favorite gather away spots in LA .

There really are so few places in LA you’re able to go that are dispirited key . Another great post was Samuel French , a bookstore where you could just go and read plays . The bookshop closed in 2019 , but was a mainstay in the city for so long .
