Arby’s first-ever beef burgers are a pretty big deal, but how do they compare to other classic burgers?
In a major first for the meat - centrical profligate food , Arby’sunveiled its newDeluxe Wagyu Steakhouse Burgerand the Bacon Ranch Wagyu Steakhouse Burger on May 23 . It was a pretty big deal , see the chain has had just about every eccentric of gist on the computer menu except a classic burger . But while Arby ’s was tossing its bun intoa crowded libertine food arena , it was also promising to pitch something no one else was offering .
The Deluxe Wagyu Steakhouse Burger comes with the patty cooked sous vide - style , top with American cheese , chopped lettuce , tomato , pickles , red onion , a particular Warren Earl Burger sauce , and stack into a buttery brioche bun . The Bacon Ranch Wagyu Steakhouse Burger has the same cake , topped with bacon , American cheese , shredded sugar , tomato , pickles , onion , and parmesan peppercorn cattle farm on the same wassail brioche bun .
Arby ’s customers can order a burger made with American Wagyu beef for $ 5.99 or $ 6.99 for the Bacon Ranch translation . The Ernst Boris Chain says it is a " cross between Japanese Wagyu and high - quality continental breeds of Bos taurus , " and promises the burger is 50 % larger than the McDonald ’s Quarter Pounder .

But could the promise of such stacked Burger live up to the hoopla ? And could these Wagyu Burger hold their own against the existing lineup of fast food burgers ? Here ’s the Thrillist review .
First Impressions
In our real - cosmos examination , both version of the burger immediately live up to Arby ’s first promise . These sandwiches were hefty . I did n’t get out a scale and double - curb , but I did n’t have a hard time consider that they were each at least 6.4 ounces . Both patty came exhaustively scorch on the exterior ( in a good mode ! ) , reminding me of a homemade burger cook absolutely on a backyard grill .
The Bun
The larder brioche buns were toasted as promised and did what any first-class burger roll does , which is concord the whole matter together . It did the line of work , but nothing about it stood out peculiarly . Brioche buns are pretty stock these days and these buns tasted like just about every other one out there . Then again , this is a burger that has a lot belong on , so a nice , consistent bun that does n’t distract from the smack of everything else is really the good affair you’re able to ask for .
The Wagyu Beef Burger
I ’ll be true . I was a sceptic . For me , burgers from fast solid food junction seldom bear out . So I was n’t expecting much for this one either . I ’m happy to cover that I was cheerily surprised . This burger was not only bountiful , but it smack swell — with the beefiness and char that you typically have to pay a few bucks more for from a degenerate insouciant chain . From the first bit , it was clear that the caliber of the meat was n’t overhyped . The sous vide preparation made it savour like I was eating a burger that be way more than $ 5 or $ 6 . It might not compete with anything on a steak family ’s menu , but it emphatically stands out in the fast food arena and , candidly , can compete with burgers from fancy chains like Shake Shack and Five Guys .
Bacon Ranch vs. Deluxe
tone - wise , the Bacon Ranch blow the regular Deluxe version of the burger out of the pee . The crispy saltiness of the bacon and the parmesan peppercorn ranch just appealed to my appreciation buds way more than the standard special burger sauce . The particular burger sauce just entrust me thinking about what the sauce was made of instead of enjoying its flavor . For the extra dollar you pay for the Bacon Ranch , it feel like you were upgrade from a bistro hamburger to a steakhouse burger .
Final Thoughts
Both burgers are worth your time if only to try out this Wagyu beef cattle portmanteau that really smack a cut above competitors ' beef patties . I find the Bacon Ranch version of the Wagyu Steakhouse Burger to be the tastier , more comforting option . Still , the Deluxe was definitely a unspoilt meter for those who favor something without bacon . I can fancy myself arrange the Bacon Ranch again , though maybe not for at least several days . eat on 6.4 ounce of burger left me feeling passing full .
