Garfield superfans Joey Clift and Goldie Chan thought they had finally made it.

Among them was aGarfield - themedhotel roomacross quality Motel 6 properties , which would receive guest for a very limited time between now and throughout mid - June .
You really needed to have two things to successfully snag a stay in such an iconic room : a deep love for all - thing - Garfield ( of class ) and really debauched pollex . As Garfield aficionado like Joey Clift will tell you , the circumscribed - fourth dimension promotional material had all fans up and lam , so much so that many participate locations — including all of the Motel 6 locationsin the Los Angeles region , where Clift experience — are reportedly sell out on all date .
But Clift did n’t have to worry about that . He managed to be one of the few golden fans who successfully book a stay at the Motel 6 near theLos Angeles International Airport . To Clift , it was a big deal .

" Being a fan of cats and loving the colour orange , I remember having my mind blown when I saw my first Garfield Bible at my elementary school ’s leger fair and begging my mom to buy it for me . The Garfield - themed room was only one car ride out for Clift and his girl , Goldie Chan — until it suddenly was n’t . When Clift and Chan get to their destination latterly at night this past weekend , they find out the hotel had erroneously doubly book the way . Now , it was between them — a Garfield - loving couple dripped out in Garfield merch and come off of a plenty of Garfield - revolutionise activity — and a dude with ( permanent ! ) Garfield tattoos all over his arm .

Chaos sort of ensued . Nobody knew what to do , and everybody was starting to feel agitated . The parties involved ( all of them , including the hotel staff ) were barely keeping it together , when after 30 proceedings , Clift found a solution . " I finally said , ' Hey if you ’ll give us a repayment and let us take selfies in the elbow room , we ’ll call it beneficial . ' "
Everybody was reportedly relieved , and Clift and Chan at least got to take a few very cute photograph before heading out of the hotel . Sadly , as much as Clift admits he would love to resume his pursuit to stay in the Garfield suite in the future tense , he unfortunately can not make that happen because the promotion is nearly over . But all is good that ends well — even when it ’s still a little bittersweet .
" It ’s a bummer , but I ’m glad we at least got a few pictures in the elbow room , " Clift told Thrillist . " And I ’m envious of any Garfield sports fan that actually get to stay in the suite . "
