alas , the path will also extend , for a good part , across both the Arctic and the Atlantic Ocean , so unless you skip on a gravy boat or a cruise ship , all those square Swedish mile of totality will be inaccessible . If you are not willing to travel for the eclipse , though , you ’ll have to wait longer to get the next one from the US . OnMarch 20 , 2033 , a total solar occultation live on a maximum of two moment and 37 second will be visible across parts of Russia and Alaska . This eclipse will not be seeable from the immediate US .

The next total solar occultation that will be visible from the continental United States will occur onAugust 23 , 2044 , which is more than 20 old age from now . However , you ’ll likely have to travel for that one too , because only three states will be in the track of sum at that prison term , including part of North Dakota , South Dakota , and Montana .
